Overview of SBC
Stenhouse Baptist Church is a vibrant and growing church of all ages in Stenhouse, Edinburgh.

We are here to see the people, the places and the community of Stenhouse be transformed by God’s love, worked out through the church family, and in partnership with God’s Spirit and purposes.

Stenhouse Baptist has been here since 1932 when Stenhouse itself was being built and has served the community in many different ways over its long history. In 2016 Stenhouse Baptist formed a partnership with Central Church Edinburgh to bring in a team from Central to breathe new life into the church. A few years later by God’s grace the church is growing numerically and in depth, while continuing to form regular strong links into the community.

SBC continues to be affiliated with Central Church Edinburgh and the Baptist Union. We are also passionate about Prison Work, Schools Work and Community Outreach and are grateful to be partnering with Junction 42, Younglife, SU, CAP and Safe Families for Children.

Church Life
SBC is currently made up of approx 40 adults and around 15 children. Most of us live either in or near Stenhouse, being physically part of the local community is something that’s very important to us. We are more than just an hour on a Sunday, we love eating together and are developing small groups this year too. As a newly ‘replanted’ church there is a real emphasis on mission in Stenhouse and this is worked-out in many different ways.

Leadership Structure
The SBC leadership structure is a combination of trustees and deacons. We employ a pastor who works with the leadership team to oversee and develop the work of the church.
