Hello,

Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, you’d be really welcome with us at Stenhouse. We exist because we love to worship God, we want to grow as community together and we want to see good things happen in Stenhouse. We believe that Jesus makes a huge difference in our lives and in our towns and cities too.

Everyone is welcome at Stenhouse. You don’t need to wear a suit, you don’t need to have been to church before, you’re not expected to be a particular sort of person or say the right things –  you just need the confidence to come and say hi to some friendly faces. Take a sneak peak at some of our talks via our Youtube channel.

All ages are welcome. We have one Sunday service at 11.00am. Worship lasts for about an hour and we’d love you to stick around too. We have lunch together on Sundays every couple of months.

Kids: We have three Sunday Kids groups from ages 2-11.

Every other Tuesday we invite parents with Primary aged kids to come and eat and play with us.

We also have Tea n Tots. A relaxed space for parents to bring little ones. Mondays at 10am and then 11.30am too.

What goes on around here?

At Stenhouse we believe that church is about much more than just a Sunday service.

We’re involved in the local schools and the prison amongst other things. We believe that God’s love doesn’t just belong in the church building and we’re looking to make friends with everyone & anyone in Stenhouse.

We have weekly bible studies, a new group for parents and babies and more exciting things in the pipeline. We also meet in small groups in people’s homes too and have helped to start a fantastic wee community garden called Good Roots – check it out!

We also partner with Junction 42 to run ‘Connect’ every Wednesday at 7pm; a relaxed worship and prayer evening with a community meal. Find out more about Junction 42

and finally, a fantastic new free lunch on Thursdays for anyone to come, eat, relax and get some help if needed. This is in partnership with the amazing Bethany Christian Trust.

What about God?

Life isn’t always easy. We walk through life often scarred from the past, nervous about the future, and depending on our own best efforts to make everything work.

For us at SBC, It’s difficult to put into just a paragraph all that Jesus means to us and all that he has done for us… but we believe that God’s love changes lives, God’s forgiveness transforms us and God’s power can fill us so that we can live this ‘life to the full’ that Jesus spoke about.

We believe that Jesus is alive, knows us each by name and wants to get to know us again, as strange as that may sound to some people.

Our past doesn’t define our future. And nothing we’ve done or said can stop God from loving us. ‘This is how we know what love is’ – That Jesus loves us so much he laid down his life for us.

About

Stenhouse Baptist Church has been at the heart of the local community since 1932.

We swapped buildings in 2014 to serve the needs of the local community and we’re now sitting right above Tesco and Greggs at 30 Stenhouse Grove, EH11 3EE

Please contact us if you wish to enquire about the availability of the building for a conference or regular use. We are not hosting birthday parties at the moment, sorry!

SBC is led by Thomas and Claudia Dean who live just round the corner and are happy to hear from anyone interested to know more about who we are and what we do. Contact 07783138463 or thomas@stenhousebaptist.co.uk
